After getting a glimpse of just how lively these markets can get, you'll continue to the next stop of your tour, Monastiraki Square, a famous shopping district. Although the flea market is the main attraction, there are other notable sights including Pantanassa Monastery and the Adrian Library. In addition to shopping, expect plenty of sightseeing. You'll go past ancient Agora and check out see the lively central neighborhood of Thission, where you can see the ancient architecture from the 17th and 18th centuries along the way, as we head towards one of Athens' oldest areas, Plaka, to enjoy a freshly brewed coffee as we chat about all things ancient Greek.
You will then be dropped off outside of the Acropolis area where you are free to enter the site for further exploration on your own. The Acropolis is an ancient citadel that houses many of the city's historic structures like the Parthenon, a temple dedicated to the goddess of wisdom Athena.

Mr. Bonner has over a decade of experience working in the cruise industry in a variety of roles for both Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Viking River Cruises.
